Building on the reputation of our Architectural Showcase and Facility of Merit program, Athletic Business is pleased to announce an aquatics-specific design program! The January/February issue of Athletic Business will feature the latest aquatic renovation and new construction projects submitted by architects and other design professionals, as well as by facility owners and operators. Bringing together the newest and most innovative design concepts from across the athletic, fitness and recreation industries, AB's Aquatic Design Portfolio will be the go-to resource for industry professionals seeking inspiration for their own aquatics projects.
To learn more about submitting, please contact Emily Attwood.
For nearly three decades, Athletic Business has sponsored the Architectural Showcase, recognizing the best in recently constructed athletic, recreation and fitness facilities around the world. Entered by architects and other design professionals, as well as by facility owners and operators, all submittals appear in the June issue and in athleticbusiness.com's Architectural Galleries, and are then reviewed by a panel of leading sports facility architects, who each year honor 10 of the projects with Facility of Merit awards. Award-winners will be profiled further in the November issue of Athletic Business and honored at the Athletic Business Conference, which in 2015 takes place Nov. 19-21 in New Orleans, La. Submitters to the Architectural Showcase receive a valuable opportunity to generate increased business through exposure to athletic, recreation and fitness facility planners in North America and overseas.
Submissions for the 2015 Architectural Showcase are now closed. To inquire about submitting in 2016, please contact Emily Attwood.
Facility of Merit® Awards
Each summer, a rotating panel of leading architects convenes for two days to review all entries from the June issue and choose 10 facilities to receive the coveted Facility of Merit Awards, announced in the November issue of Athletic Business and presented at the annual Athletic Business Conference.
Facilities are selected on the basis of plan efficiency; functional relationships and measures taken to maximize use of space; interior finishes, detailing and color schemes; exterior design; relationship of building to site; and cost of construction for value received.
