An Erie County grand jury has indicted a Rochester man on one count of intentional murder in the shooting death of another man while both were attending a junior-high girls basketball tournament in West Seneca.

Andre M. Lewis, 39, is accused of firing several shots at Robert Echols, 54, of Irondequoit on April 29 outside the Niagara Frontier Sports Complex, 425 Meyer Road. Town police said the shooting appeared to be the result of a domestic dispute that escalated.

Echols was formerly married to Lewis's mother, according to Rochester-area media. He was shot near the entrance to the complex just as the AAU basketball tournament game was ending, and taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he died.

Arraignment for Lewis is scheduled for Wednesday in State Supreme Court.
