The University of Oklahoma softball program played in the new stadium at Love's Field on Friday.
The brand new facility offers approximate capacity for 4,200 fans, which doubled the previous capacity, new concession stands, restrooms and a 10,000 square-foot indoor practice facility.
Other additions include OU softball championship display, several team spaces including a training room, locker room and classroom and access to existing parking in the immediate vicinity.
The College of William and Mary in Virginia announced last week that a new turf field — to named Jill Ellis Field — will be installed in the new 1987 Women’s Soccer Team Training Center.
The field will include a new scoreboard and lights, making night practices and games possible.
The field is in honor of legendary Tribe soccer player Jill Ellis ’88, L.H.D.’16, who has had a stellar career as a head coach at the Division 1 level and as the head coach for the U.S. National Women’s Team, which won back-to-back FIFA World Cups in 2015 and 2019. Ellis is currently the team president for San Diego Wave FC.
Jill Ellis Field will be dedicated in April.

Work is continuing at Portage Area School District’s historic Portage Stadium, and the school board has kicked off Phase 2 of the project by awarding contracts for the new locker room building.
