Converting an old Grocery Store into an indoor soccer facility. In the area that I live it takes approximately 40 minutes to get to the nearest indoor soccer facility, if traffic is good. In the town that I live in we have a sizeable grocery store not in use that would be perfect for an indoor soccer facility and possibly large enough to put other athletic areas in it as well. How would one go about proposing a business plan or get funding to do a project like this. I know for sure if we had the facility it would get a lot of business.

One good place to start is with the SBA. The SBA not only provides sources of funding for small businesses of many types but also provides a range of services to guide you through the process. You are wise to ask the question about the business plan process because without a well written plan and professional looking financial projections to go along with it you will have very little chance of getting investor funding and very little chance of getting SBA or bank funding. Some of the things that need to be in the business plan are a demographic study and a market competition study, a staffing plan, various profit centers described that will support the business and any other relevant facts about your basic business model/concept and your case for why it will work. Then you’ll need supporting projections that represent a comprehensive financial forecast for the business. So this is all a mouthful and yet this is just a small portion of what needs to be thought through and included in writing to get a business off the ground. You may want some outside support in writing the business plan and running the projections.
