Our school has just received a $10,000 grant for physical education. I would like to purchase a top-end treadmill and elliptical, however we do not have anywhere to place this equipment under lock and key. Without doubt, these pieces of equipment will be destroyed within 1 year if they are left out in the open. That being said, does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do with the grant money?

If the grant allows, you may try to start an after-school wellness program for students and teachers. One suggestion is to divide the money into two years and pay a qualified individual $5,000 per year to run the program for an hour per day after school.

Use the money for behavior change instead. Make the community buy the equipment, not the federal government. Save the 10,00 until you have something that you know is awesome. Maybe start a program like Mike Seril's in CA. Or check out Stanford's wellness campaign for the PAC 10. http://stanford.wellsphere.com/home.s This above one is incredible, probably the bets Ive ever seen. My site: www.resolutiontogether.com

Buy AEDs. Have the AEDs in accessible locations during all school events.
