We just purchased several tons of bulk crushed rubber to apply to our sports turf field. We have Field Spec maintenance machine, however I would love to get a "how to " video for operating it for the first time.In the mean time, is there a manual way to apply the crushed rubber that will benefit our participants? The field has had NO MAINTENANCE for the past three years and is severely matted down. I am hoping once we get the rubber added and the machine operational, the brushes and tines will be able to alleviate the matting problem at least a bit. This field is used daily by our military members and our sports teams. We really want to get the project completed for the benefit of the troops. Thank youSteve RennerCamp Services ManagerCamp LemonnierDjibouti, Africa

Steve,
You may not need additional rubber infill, just a good grooming process. There should be approximately 1/2" of fiber exposed above the infill. If more than 3/4", then you will need to add the infill. Less than 1/2" and the field could get too soft or would allow for too fast of a ball roll. Pull the drag brush across the turf a few times in different directions and see what happens. Set it so the bristles of the brush are just barely touching the infill. Let me know how it turns out or contact me for additional help. Pictures are good. Milo
