A high school football player died in Washington state yesterday after suffering an undisclosed injury during a game.

According to the Huffington Post, Kenney Bui, an athlete on the Evergreen High School football team, was injured trying to make a tackle during his team’s game against Highline High School.

Bui is the fourth high school football player in the U.S. to die from an in-game injury within the last month. Benn Hamm, Tyrell Cameron, and Evan Murray are the others.

According to the Seattle Times, about 65 people gathered at the school’s campus Monday for a private ceremony in Bui’s honor. Students from across the district came out in support, carrying balloons and flowers.

Natasha McCray, the pastor who led the service and also a basketball coach at the school, said that Bui’s death has hit the community hard.

“The school community is really grieving now,” McCray said.  “This is a critical time for kids.”

The school will offer grief counseling to students who need it.
