Proven fitness and wellness services executive to drive next stage of expansion; replaces interim CEO W. Edward McConaghay as the company continues its industry leading innovation in virtual group fitness solutions.

WELLBEATS™, the pioneer and leader in virtual group fitness and video content, announced that Jason Von Bank was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  Mr. Von Bank is charged with driving the company’s growth plan, expanding on the industry’s largest installed base of virtual presentation systems around the world.  “We are excited by the prospects of WELLBEATS’ growth potential under Jason’s leadership” said Leslie Frecon, CEO of LFE Capital, a Minneapolis-based growth equity firm whose portfolio includes WELLBEATS.

“We are thrilled Jason is joining WELLBEATS,” said Ed McConaghay, outgoing interim CEO. “He has the perfect set of skills and executive experience to take the company to the next level.  Jason brings invaluable sales, marketing and business development experience to help WELLBEATS increase its worldwide presence, while continuing to bring leading edge content and technology solutions to fitness rooms everywhere.”

Mr. Von Bank was most recently at Schwan’s Home Service where he led business development and served as Managing Director of the Schwan’s Cares business – an online fundraising business that leveraged its nationwide direct to home delivery network, serving over 4,000 organizations and national partners and clients including USA Hockey, the National PTA, 4-H, the National Sports Center, Special Olympics, and others.  Prior to Schwan’s, Von Bank held leadership and executive roles at Life Time Fitness and OptumHealth.  A degree in International Business from St. Thomas University, an MBA from the University of Chicago and senior management experience with General Electric rounds out a career focused on building strong businesses through sound and scalable operations, compelling value propositions, value add partnerships and proven management skills.  Von Bank is on the board for Special Olympics, MN and just concluded a six year stint on Allina Health Hospice foundation board.

“Jason brings substantial and relevant industry expertise and a stellar track record. He is a proven leader in developing and scaling wellness businesses and is one of the best business development guys I have seen in my career,” said Mike Gerend, chairman of the WELLBEATS board. “Jason rounds out a team that has built a strong operation and driven terrific growth to date. He takes over from Ed McConaghay after an important time of strategic repositioning and rebranding to focus on the company’s core fitness and wellness content and programing capabilities. This is an exciting next step in the growth of WELLBEATS.  We thank Ed McConaghay for his excellent service and for bringing us to this point where we can welcome Jason to the team.”

“I’m thrilled to join the WELLBEATS team,” said Von Bank. “Our innovative technology and unparalleled content uniquely positions WELLBEATS to bring world class group fitness to the masses. WELLBEATS built a category, and its promise and distinct delivery of Virtual Presentation, Live Experience continues to be the most effective way to provide virtual group fitness. I believe we are well positioned to be the next great fitness solution desired by health seekers and organizations world wide.”
