SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2013) - American Council on Exercise (ACE ) has launched ACEFit.com , a new website solely dedicated to providing free resources and information that empowers individuals to live their most fit lives. Featuring an extensive exercise library, leading industry research and product reviews, the site gives visitors access to interactive tools, including the "Fitness for Me" personalized workout finder and the "Ask an ACE Expert" Q&A forum.

To coincide with the launch of the site and to give visitors an added resource to help them maintain their New Year's resolutions, ACE will host "Press Play for Fitness Month." From Jan. 18 through Feb. 15, a new video will be available weekly at ACEFit.com/PressPlay. Ranging from strength and endurance building routines to a hip-hop inspired dance class, each video is led by an ACE- expert. The selections incorporate ACE's picks for the best group fitness classes and exercise DVDs to try in 2013, and provide a great starting point for those looking to embark on or stick to New Year's resolutions.

"As we shared in our recent 2013 Fitness Trends to Watch report, the key to fighting obesity is larger than just exercise and nutrition - it's about reversing unhealthy behaviors and providing motivation and resources to live the most fit life possible. ACEFit.com expands our focus to encompass all the necessary elements that make up a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle and to make these tools accessible, at no cost, to all," said ACE Chief Science Officer Cedric X. Bryant, Ph.D.

Along with the standard features ACE is known for, like its comprehensive exercise and workout libraries, ACEFit.com includes new tools and expanded functions. Visitors can utilize the new "Fitness for Me" application, which allows users to "choose their own fitness adventure." By answering a few simple questions, "Fitness for Me" provides visitors with custom exercise recommendations based on their fitness level, time constraints and workout location.

Visitors can also participate in "Ask an ACE Expert," an enhanced extension of ACE's popular Ask an Expert blog. Users can submit their questions online, which will be shared with ACE subject matter experts who will provide feedback directly to the user. Select questions and answers are featured on the website.

ACEFit.com also includes an expanded Healthy Living section offering nutrition advice, healthy cooking videos, calculators to help users set and achieve their nutrition goals, and healthy recipes. The new section provides additional resources and information related to youth health and fitness, including dedicated nutrition videos, expert blogs and more.
