CLEVELAND - The Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) announced it will recognize an Event Manager of the Year, presented by GameDay Consulting, a Facility Manager of the Year, presented by AstroTurf, as well as offer a Diversity Grant, presented by Beynon Sports.

The Diversity Grant will help one deserving candidate attend the 6th annual CEFMA Convention in June. The goal of the grant is to identify up-and-coming minority administrators who desire to excel in athletics facility and event management. The focus is to increase under-represented minority professionals in this field. The grant seeks individuals who want to advance their athletics administrator career, become more familiar with facility/events best practices, increase their network and participate in valuable networking opportunities. Both ethnic minorities and females may be considered.

"The CEFMA Board of Directors is pleased to offer the Diversity Stipend again this year," said CEFMA President Dawn Stewart, director of athletics at Otterbein University. "This opportunity will be provided to an individual to continue their professional development and learn from the industry's best collegiate event and facility managers."

The GameDay Consulting Event Manager of the Year Award and AstroTurf Facility Manager of the Year Award will each recognize one athletics administrator who excels in the areas of facility and event management. Nominees will be considered based on their professional achievement, experience, honors/special recognition or awards and community service.

"The Facility and Event Manager of the Year Award has been separated into two awards this year in order to appropriately recognize those individuals who dedicate their energies to either facility management or event management.  We are excited to expand this recognition and celebrate the efforts of two deserving members of CEFMA," said Stewart.

Nominations for the AstroTurf Facility Manager of the Year Award will be accepted until Friday, March 21,2014.

The winner will receive:

- 2014 CEFMA Convention registration waived.

- Three (3) nights accommodations in Orlando (room & tax).

- A $400 travel stipend (for actual travel expenses).

- Award winner shall receive a special plaque and be recognized at Convention.
