COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. – {May 21, 2015} – Johnson Health Tech North America (JHTNA) is proud to announce its support for and $25,000 donation to KIDS in the GAME, a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on inspiring kids to thrive in life through sports. KIDS in the GAME provides grants and other financial assistance to schools in order to increase access for low-income students to school-based physical education programming and after-school sports. Other supporters include the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) and PHIT America, an organization that promotes physical activity through education, programming, outreach and legislative advocacy.

“Our mission at Johnson Health Tech has always been health and wellness, so it’s natural for us to partner with KIDS in the GAME to help area children be more active,” said Nathan Pyles, president of JHTNA. “These grants are designed to ignite activity and fitness in the community. We hope that our partnership will help spread the word that it is never too early to start learning about the importance of an active lifestyle.”

KIDS in the GAME is currently receiving applications through June 1, 2015 for the new GO! Grant, which is available to elementary schools for the 2015-2016 school year. The goal of the GO! Grant program is to increase physical activity at elementary schools across the United States. These $1,000–$5,000 grants enable schools with little to no organized physical activity programming to jumpstart new programs by utilizing their own ideas or selecting from dozens of low-cost classroom, gym and playground gear options.

Interested educators, youth sports organizations and community members are encouraged to learn more about the GO! Grant at www.kidsinthegame.org.
