HILLSDALE, Mich., Oct. 15, 2014  -- Qualite Sports Lighting, a leader in the sports lighting industry for more than 30 years, has selected Ephesus Lighting, Inc., a leader in developing high efficiency LED Lighting solutions, as the preferred supplier for outdoor LED sports lights as part of its new Q-LED™ System, an innovative lighting system for outdoor sports venues. The Q-LED™ System combines the Ephesus Lighting high impact outdoor Stadium LED lighting solution with Qualite's industry-leading pre-wired, pre-aiming technologies and mounting hardware. By choosing the Q-LED™ System, clients can be assured of a winning combination for their sports lighting needs.

"By offering Ephesus LED lighting fixtures as part of our Q-LED System customers can be assured of a trusted and reliable solution to their lighting needs," said Nick Page, President of Qualite Sports Lighting. "Both Ephesus and Qualite work precisely to ensure that the Q-LED solution exceeds expectations of all stakeholders."

Due to the growing popularity of LED lighting at stadiums, arenas and other sports venues, Qualite will also launch a retrofit kit to convert current metal halide systems to Q-LED™ beginning in 2015. The retro-fit program will offer a turnkey solution to leverage existing venue infrastructure, as well as provide administration of available State and Federal energy rebates to ensure the customer's return on investment is maximized.

Ephesus and Qualite to Illuminate the Super Bowl

In September, Qualite worked with the Ephesus team to convert University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals and the 2015 Super Bowl to LED lighting. Qualite provided pre wired, pre aimed technologies and mounting hardware for the installation. With its retractable roof and field, it is unlike any other stadium in North America, and a marvel of design, engineering, and technology. This multi-purpose facility, which opened on August 1, 2006, previously hosted Super Bowl XLII in 2008, two BCS National Championship Games (2007 & 2011), the annual Fiesta Bowl, and numerous international soccer matches. The 63,400-seat stadium, which is expandable to seat 72,200 fans, is owned by the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority (AZSTA) and operated by Global Spectrum.

Only 312 Ephesus Stadium fixtures were needed for the University of Phoenix Stadium to replace 780 metal halide fixtures. The new LED lights use only 310,000 watts of energy as opposed to the 1.24 million watts of power needed for the previous system. It is projected that the solution will save the facility up to 75% in energy costs.

The new generation of LED technology is a real game changer in the world of sports lighting. It not only delivers more and better quality light (fully HDTV compliant), it costs less to purchase, install, run and maintain. Because of the proven energy efficiencies, valuable public energy rebate savings are available to customers converting to LED.

Ephesus manufactures the brightest LED on the market and is the only stadium-designed lighting listed under Design Light Consortium's (DLC) quality, performance and energy efficiency requirements. The DLC certification enables facilities to receive energy incentives from utility providers. Since lighting the first sports venue with LED technology in North America in 2012, Ephesus' luminaires have been operational for over 70,000 hours in more than 30 indoor and outdoor sports and entertainment venues across North America including; the Canadian Tire Center, home of NHL's Ottawa Senators, Duke University's Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium, and The Ryan Center at the University of Rhode Island.

"We are excited that so many sports and entertainment venues have made the switch to LED lighting over the past two years," said Mike Lorenz, President of Ephesus Lighting. "We look forward to continuing to work with Qualite and provide customers one-stop shopping for energy-efficient sports lighting solutions."
