Building Blogs: Wake Forest University Recreation

 

In summer 2014, Wake Forest University began the Reynolds Gymnasium Renovation and Transformation project, a three-phase undertaking to upgrade indoor campus recreation facilities. Phase I, now complete, added two new gymnasiums and an outdoor pursuits center to the existing Reynolds Gymnasium. Phases II and III will transform the rest of the existing space, upgrading the offerings of the facility. Throughout the process, Max Floyd, Director of Campus Recreation at Wake Forest University, will be offering behind-the-scenes looks at the process.

About Max Floyd

 Max Floyd has spend the last 22 years as the Director of Campus Recreation at Wake Forest University. He was born and raised on Kodiak Island in Alaska where he grew to love sports, the outdoors and learning and experiencing new things. He played Division I baseball at Arizona State University and the University of Texas at El Paso, and left college early, signing with the Philadelphia Phillies after being drafted in the 14th round. After a short stint with the Phillies, he returned to UTEP, gaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Following graduation, he went to The Ohio State University where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Sport Management.
