BOONE - Appalachian State will install a 2,500-square-foot video board for football games in Kidd Brewer Stadium as part of the school's "A Mountaineer Impact" initiative, which features a fundraising goal of more than $60 million.

The addition of the Daktronics LED board, as well as the installation of a center-hung videoboard for basketball and volleyball games in the Holmes Center, are the first projects to be funded by the initiative. They will be installed in August.

According to App State, the football board will be roughly three times larger than the board currently positioned in the tree-lined end of Kidd Brewer Stadium and rank as the largest of its kind among the Group of Five schools within the FBS level.

It will use 13HD technology, which is also available in the Carolina Panthers' home stadium, and Kidd Brewer Stadium will add an improved audio system along with new ribbon displays. App State will be one of only three universities to have a center-hung display with a convex curvature in its home basketball arena, according to the school.
