Ashley RossAshley Ross

Ashley Ross
Recreation and fitness coordinator, Florida Polytechnic University

"As a STEM University, there is a very small percentage of the student population interested and/or active within campus recreation. I would like to see the organization increase participation by 300 percent within the 2016 year."

Vicky Jager
Coordinator of recreational services, Luther College

"We want to introduce more students to the enjoyment of the great outdoors — camping, kayaking, rock climbing, biking, broomball and cross country skiing. My immediate goal is to have the students embrace winter in northeast Iowa instead of grumbling, and spending more time outdoors year-round."

Matt Lassen
Physical education teacher, Filer School District (Idaho)

"My goal is to have an athletic trainer for all athletic events and implement new concussion research into diagnosis, treatment and return-to-play protocols. There is the need for athletic trainers to be hired for all athletic events to ensure the participants receive the proper treatment and diagnosis for injuries, especially concerning concussions."

Chris Long
Director of athletics, Juan Diego Catholic High School (Utah)

"Make a greater and more concerted effort to educate parents on the dangers of sports specialization in junior high and high school athletes. Kids who participate in only one sport year-round are at a much greater risk for not only overuse injuries, but injuries in general. In addition, multi-sport athletes develop better overall skills and ability, and become smarter and more creative athletes."

CJ Jones, De Anza College's Lifetime Fitness & Wellness Center
"I would like to see more support for our fitness center program — we're told we're a hidden gem on a college campus!"

Craig Dolan, City of Tarpon Springs

"Transition to healthy concessions items and eliminate candy, soda and other high-fat content items."

Greg Clayborne, Rockledge High School
"I would like to see Brevard County Schools commit to having a full-time certified athletic trainer at every high school."

Francis Labat, South Terrebonne High School
"Improve on the overall strength and fitness of our athletes."

Brandi Leblanc, nDurance Fitness
"Open new location."
