Auburn University Multipurpose Indoor Practice Facility

Auburn, AL
Construction Cost: $12.5 million
Area / Square Feet: 92,000
Occupancy Date: July 2011

Completed in July 2011, the indoor practice facility at Auburn University has seen the Tigers win an SEC championship and compete for the national championship. The facility replaces a smaller, less-accommodating 40-yard building. Constructed with a rigid-frame, pre-engineered metal building system that includes a 179-foot-radius roof with 67-foot peak, the building features reverse-tapered columns, segmented rafters, a skewed annex building and a multi-rib roof deck.

The indoor practice facility houses a 100-yard synthetic turf field that accommodates Auburn’s football, baseball, softball, soccer and track teams during inclement weather. At other times, athletic programs can take advantage of two reconfigured natural-turf fields adjacent to the building.

The facility connects to the main athletic offices and student academic center and complements the renovations made at the Auburn Athletic Complex over the past several years, as well as the ongoing improvements at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
