NAS Park Place Oita is a 47,000-square-foot family athletic club that houses multiple active and passive spaces for users of all ages and abilities. Active spaces include a 25-meter, seven-lane indoor pool with separate 15-meter, two-lane walking pool; a 6,500-square-foot fitness and cardio space with exciting outside views; and a colorful climbing wall located in the middle of the athletic floor. The facility also features a 3,300-square-foot gym, multiple group exercise studios and four indoor golf ranges with state-of the-art simulator equipment.

Passive spaces include an outdoor garden view whirlpool with relaxation deck, day spa and “Royal Room” — a special lounge available only to senior and premier members that includes a sports bar and karaoke.

The design concept blends a traditional Western-style health club with a touch of Japanese hot springs resort. A two-story atrium lounge adjacent to the main circulation area feels much like an outdoor space with glass walls and a high ceiling. Greenery, rough textured stones and a large mural-type graphic enhance outdoor nuance. The facility’s bold exterior graphics identify the building and its functionality, and the outside color scheme of earth tones — sand and brown — complement the look of the surrounding neighborhood.
