The PPL Center at the Allentown Arena Block Development is a large, mixed-use development project in the heart of Allentown’s downtown core. The arena hosts a variety of events, but is primarily known as the home of the AHL Phantoms hockey team. The arena includes event seating for 10,000 — including 1,000 club seats — 36 suites, offices, locker rooms and training facilities, as well as retail and entertainment program areas.

Other project elements include banquet and meeting rooms, the renovation and adaptive reuse of the Historic Dime Bank Building, more than 850 covered parking spaces and the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Training Center, a state-of-the-art fitness center that serves the community, LVHN patients and the Phantoms. It features an elevated 40-yard turf sprint track and circuit training equipment to provide strength, power and agility training for athletes. Sports nutrition areas provide access to the tools and expertise needed for members to fuel their bodies for peak performance.

The center also offers a variety of rehabilitation and medical services, including the Concussion and Head Trauma Lab, which provides a specialized examination room with light- and acoustic-sensitive design that allows for the diagnosis and treatment of sports- and accident-related injuries.
