Tiger Stadium South End Zone Expansion, Louisiana State University

Baton Rouge, LA
Construction Cost: $78 million
Area / Square Feet: 292,000
Occupancy Date: August 2014

The expansion of the south end zone of Tiger Stadium increases the stadium’s capacity to nearly 100,000, enhancing the fan experience and ensuring the stadium known as “Death Valley” is an even more formidable football venue for opponents. The addition includes new premium seating, with 60 private Tiger Den suites, plus a new club with 3,000 club seats and two new HD corner scoreboards. The upper level of the addition provides increased access for all fans, including 1,500 general-admission seats and a standing-room-only section. A plaza at ground level accommodates the LSU fan base and gameday activities.

The design for the new structure reinforces the original Victorian Italian Renaissance architecture of the original stadium built in 1924, often cited as the most revered building in Louisiana.
