As an important part of recent improvements to Sault College, the Health and Wellness Centre embodies the college’s commitment to invest in its students and the necessary resources to further their achievement.

A priority in the college’s Inspiring Growth capital campaign, the Health and Wellness Centre provides much-needed health-oriented instruction and recreation spaces, promoting greater student learning and life experience at Sault College and the larger community of Sault Ste. Marie. Home to the college’s varsity and club teams, as well as open student recreation, the new full-sized gymnasium incorporates an upper-level, two-lane 114-meter indoor track. Fitness rooms and open-concept studios feature natural lighting and a window terrace overlooking the Sault campus. Customizable cardio and strength equipment connect with smartphones to track workout activity against goals.

The center easily supports dozens of non-athletic events such as job fairs, concerts, speaking events, trade shows and graduation. The careful integration of student services — including the Student Life Centre — added to the richness of the user experience. Academic labs in the Student Life Centre enhance student learning, study spaces provide a quiet retreat, meeting spaces host the sharing of ideas and information, and gathering spaces accommodate formal and informal student functions.
