Arena Auditorium and Athletic Facilities Renovations – University of Wyoming

Laramie, WY
Construction Cost: $10.9 million
Occupancy Date: November 2014

Upgrades to Arena Auditorium focused on two critical areas: fan amenities in the seating bowl and student-athlete enhancements and support spaces. The project included expanding the existing arena floor to accommodate multiple practice courts and provisions for floor-level ADA access. The seating has been brought closer to the sidelines with retractable platforms and floor chairs for a more intimate fan environment. This includes enhanced seating zones with deep rows and wide, padded chairs. Two 40-foot-long videoboards, a new sound system and LED sports lighting create a dynamic arena environment.

The men’s and women’s basketball locker rooms received a complete remodel, incorporating space for team gathering, student-athlete study and coaching instruction. Both locker room environments have direct access to additional renovated support spaces, including larger team/media areas, a film room, sports medicine facilities, and strength and conditioning areas.

Also included in the interior improvements for athletic spaces were upgrades to the wrestling locker area and football coaches’ offices. New, dedicated lounge and cardio spaces transform the existing wrestling locker room into a key recruiting tool and provide student-athletes with ample lounge and study space.
