This state-of-the-art facility serves as home of the Long Island University Blackbirds basketball program, as well as the main recreation center for the student body at large. The multipurpose center features modern lines, sleek glass exteriors and separate entrances for students and the general public.

The building houses first-class health, recreation and athletic facilities, including a 20,260-square-foot arena that seats 3,000 spectators.With bleachers retracted, the arena floor can accommodate three basketball courts, as well as concerts, trade shows and other events. Hospitality spaces located along the north end overlook the courts and existing soccer field.

A 15,000-square-foot wellness center and an eight-lane, NCAA competition pool round out the building program. Fitness areas include a weight room, an aerobics room and locker/shower areas, and rehabilitation areas allow for treatment of asthma, cardio-respiratory conditions and sickle-cell anemia. This center, which includes a hydrotherapy pool, enables the university?s strong health-science program to integrate a teaching practicum with a major New York City hospital.

Finally, two all-weather tennis courts and a running track are perched high on the center?s rooftop to provide a breathtaking setting for outdoor practice sessions and competitions.
