The Robert Livermore Community Center offers something for everyone. The facility incorporates dedicated spaces for seniors, teens and children and combines many specialized program areas — such as a gymnasium, a dance studio and an arts and crafts room — with multipurpose spaces to accommodate a wide variety of activities.

All ages are welcome in a large gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, badminton, training programs, “peewee” programs and a host of other sports activities. Meanwhile, mind and body are strengthened through movement, dance and other exercise activities in the studio. A spacious ballroom accommodates large meetings, banquets and celebrations, and a platform stage allows for small theatrical and musical performances. Each side of the ballroom, as well as a separate dining room, is served by a commercial kitchen.

Representing a practical balance of functional and practical needs, the facility was designed to integrate into the park’s environment and programming. Massing of the building was carefully crafted to create a variety of outdoor areas that transition from the building to the park via patios, terraces, a courtyard and pool decks. This approach enhances the relationship between the building and the park, and adds valuable outdoor program space to the facility.
