Mizzou Arena was designed to create an exciting game-day environment for Tigers basketball games and provide dedicated athletic and academic development facilities for the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Located on a beautiful tree-filled site, the field house is designed with a recognizable arched roofline to reflect collegiate basketball’s rich history. The warm brick facade, along with plentiful glass for transparency, welcomes fans, visitors and community members to the many events held inside.

The interior design of Mizzou Arena involved three aspects the public space of the arena, the intercollegiate athletics department offices and the player development area. Twenty-four suites circle the arena, featuring rich interiors and easy access to public spaces. Meanwhile, the athletics department and player development area are distinct in their materials and color palettes, suited to the demographics of the groups using each area.

The player development area was designed to serve as a home away from home for student-athletes, offering everything players need to reach their highest potential: locker rooms, lounges, a training room, video classrooms, meeting and study areas, a dedicated sports medicine clinic, a dining area and a practice court. Balconies off the second and third floor coaches’ offices overlook the practice court. The entrance to the player development area is separated from the spectator entrance, and is located adjacent to coaches’ and intercollegiate athletics department offices.
