The Blue Water Sports Club was built to support a 1,200-home private community. Among the first facilities constructed in this community, the clubhouse and its outdoor amenities make a positive first impression to potential residents.

Intended to support the physical wellbeing of the community’s residents, the clubhouse features an aerobics room, an indoor running track, cardiovascular fitness and weight-training equipment, an indoor 25-meter lap pool, a leisure pool, a spa, tennis courts, a juice bar, a locker/shower area, a massage room, a meeting room and a second-floor terrace.

The curved cardio fitness room was placed on the second floor to face the pool deck and tennis courts, and to offer breathtaking views of the deep canyon beyond. Shed roofs were used to open up the interior ceiling space and take advantage of view angles from the indoor pool and running track.

The building and exterior amenities were carefully sited in Anderson Canyon at the base of the Cleveland National Forest. This location provided the most dramatic opportunities for views of the canyon and adjacent hills. The building’s transparency maximizes these views and creates a dynamic environment in which community residents can exercise.
