Petco Park, typically the home of the San Diego Padres, will host tennis for the first time ever this weekend. The stadium has been transformed to host the Davis Cup in what is usually left-center field of one of baseball's most beautiful stadiums.

Beginning Friday and lasting throughout the weekend, the U.S. will take on Andy Murray and the British.

"I think this is one of the most unique and beautiful settings that we'll experience in our lifetime," U.S. team captain Jim Courier told NBC San Diego. "This is spectacular to be able to be in this ballpark and then just have an incredible tennis facility pop up out of nowhere."

According to NBC, construction of the temporary tennis stadium started earlier this month.  Red clay was trucked in and temporary grandstands built to seat roughly 8,000 fans for the three-day event.

Athletic Business Conference & Expo attendees should be familiar with the venue as ABC 2013 was held just across the street at the convention center. Anyway, check out the pictures.
