Teammate Allegedly Assaulted in Superintendent Home

The Bixby (Okla.) Police Department was notified this month of assault allegations made against members of the Bixby High School football team by a fellow teammate over an incident that took place Sept. 27.

In light of the significant delay between the initial report to school officials and the involvement of the local authorities, allegations have now been leveled against the school ā€” including an attempted cover-up of the incident in question, as well as a similar incident occurring the previous year.

On the date in question, an affidavit shared by USA Today states that ā€œWhile upstairs, three football players held [the victim] down while a fourth player stuck a pool stick into his anus, through his shorts. While this took place, another football player videoed the incident on a cellular telephone.

ā€œThe victim said that the other football players in the room were laughing during the assault. The victim also said that another player was blocking the door during the assault. After the assault, which caused significant pain, the victim immediately left the residence.ā€

The residence in question is the home of district superintendent Dr. Kyle Wood.

While police were not alerted to the incident until nearly two months after the fact, the Bixby school system had been running its own investigation of the allegations. According to the school official who eventually came forward, Wood had given him permission to involve the police and directed him to report ā€œto a certain Bixby police officer.ā€

Several Bixby players were kicked off the football team following the initial allegations, and may still face charges, as the police investigation is ongoing.
