Ohio State Requiring Masks in Stadium's Indoor Spaces

Every Ohio State University football fan will have to bring a face mask to games this season.

The university on Tuesday released its protocols for Ohio Stadium in Columbus this fall. The football game policies will match those of the campus as a whole, with masks required for any individual in an indoor space. Vaccinated people are not required to wear masks outdoors, while unvaccinated individuals are required to wear masks outdoors when they canā€™t maintain physical distancing.

Therefore, during Ohio State football games, many fans will be able to sit in the stands and watch the Buckeyes without covering their face. However, when they get concessions, go to the bathroom or do anything else inside, theyā€™ll have to put their mask back on.

ā€œMasks will be required in all interior public spaces, which includes the Huntington Club, elevators, first aid rooms, restrooms and press box,ā€ the Ohio Stadium policy reads. ā€œMasks will not be required for outdoor public spaces, which include the entry gates, concourses, concession stands and the seating bowl.ā€

Masks will also be required for indoor pregame events and all campus public transportation on game day, while the release says ā€œThe Ohio State University encourages everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.ā€

According to Spectrum News, Ohio Stadium will operate at full capacity this fall, allowing up to 103,000 fans to attend their seven home games.
