Ohio Wesleyan University, Edwards Gymnasium & Simpson Querrey Fitness Center

With support from an $8 million lead gift, Ohio Wesleyan University renovated the historic Edwards Gymnasium for club and intramural sports and transformed the former Pfieffer Natatorium into a student recreation / fitness center.  A new Hall of Fame and main circulation spine create a strong connection between the two buildings.  It features a centrally located welcome and control desk, providing security and passive observation over the building’s key functional spaces. The fitness and strength equipment within an open two-story volume is the highlight of the space. Additional elements include a large dance studio and office/meeting space for Athletics, Dance, and the Health and Human Kinetics Department.
