Arizona State University is thinking outside the box when it comes to how the community makes use of Sun Devil Stadium.

According to a report from the ABC affiliate in Tempe, Ariz., the school is looking to transform Sun Devil Stadium into a year-round community center.

Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, ASU's vice president of cultural affairs who is leading the project, said the stadium is an asset that isn’t being fully utilized. "We're just asking everyone, abandon your conventional thinking," she said. "The City of Tempe will finally have a convention center because this will be it.”

The group envisions the stadium, which is currently undergoing a $300 million renovation, hosting everything from a farmer’s market to on-field yoga classes.

Jenning-Roggensack said the two major challenges the project faces are securing the facility and ensuring the field surface is maintained and ready for game days.
