Atlanta Braves sideline reporter Kelsey Wingert got a little too close to the action Friday night, as the Braves took on the Philadelphia Phillies.

According to Yahoo Sports, Wingert was struck in the head by a foul ball while covering the game from an area next to the dugout. She was taken to a hospital where she was diagnosed with a fractured eye socket.

From AB: 'Baseball Rule' Suffers Another Blow in Foul Ball Case

The accident comes as many MLB teams are implementing additional netting to protect fans from errant foul balls and line drives. A number of incidents at major league ballparks have left fans with serious injuries, resulting in lawsuits aimed at challenging the baseball rule.

Wingert appears to be OK and in good spirits, tweeting that she is back home and recovering.
