The University of Texas has started 2018 out right.

Golden State Warriors star and University of Texas alum Kevin Durant says he’ll be donating $3 million to the university to support Texas basketball and the Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation.

According to 247sports, the Denton A. Cooley Pavilion will now be named The Kevin Durant Texas Basketball Center. The Longhorns will also name their men’s basketball facilities The Kevin Durant Basketball Facility for Men.

In a statement, Durant said his time with UT helped him grow as an athlete and as a person. “It’s important to me to continue to give back to the university and ensure that future student-athletes have all the opportunities they need to succeed,” he said. “It’s an honor to have such a close and unique relationship with Texas Basketball, and I’m grateful to be able to contribute.”

Durant was integral to the Longhorns success in the 2006-07 season, when the team made it to the Round of 32 in the NCAA tournament. He earned National Player of the Year honors that year, becoming the first freshman in NCAA history to win any of the major National Player of the Year awards.
