U.S. Bank Needs New Curtains to Host 2019 Final Four

U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis is going to have to do something to cover its massive transparent roof if it is to host the 2019 Final Four.

According to Sport Illustrated, U.S. Bank Stadium will have to install curtains to black out the light that comes through the stadium’s transparent roof. The NCAA requires that lighting during shootarounds and games must be the same for all four teams.

U.S. Bank Stadium is about 60 percent transparent and there is more than 245,000 square feet of the clear ETFE material that makes up the roof.

The new curtains will be paid for out of a $7.25 million improvements-and-maintenance budget earmarked for 2018.

This year’s Final Four will be played March 31 and April 2 at the Alamodrome in San Antonio.
