A limited number of memberships are now available for the Dallas Cowboys’ new members-only Cowboys Club, which includes a fitness facility, dining options and behind-the-scenes access to the NFL team.
The Cowboys Club, which is set to open in September, is part of a $1 billion development in the North Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas, that will house The Ford Center at The Star, the new 91-acre campus headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. The team plans to move from its Valley Ranch headquarters in Irving, Texas, once training camp begins in July, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Memberships to the Cowboys Club had been available only to Cowboys season-ticket holders until Tuesday, when they became open to the public. The cost of a family membership costs $350 a month plus a one-time fee of $4,500, the Morning News reported. The Cowboys will limit memberships to 700 to 800, according to the newspaper.
Membership includes access to Cowboys Fit, a 30,000-square-foot fitness facility where the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will train. Details about the fitness facility are scarce, although the team website said the facility was “developed in partnership with” Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness and now chairman of private equity firm New Evolution Ventures. Mastrov told Athletic Business affiliate iClubs that he is a friend of Jerry Jones Jr. — son of the Cowboys owner — but he had no involvement with the Cowboys Club other than answering questions of the Jones family from time to time.
Each member of the Cowboys Club also will have access to a five-star restaurant, a rooftop pool and valet parking. From the Cowboys’ website:
The Cowboys Club will overlook the Dallas Cowboys practice fields, in addition to the Ford Center field, where the eight Frisco ISD high schools will play all games. In addition, members can attend coach, executive and player chalk talks covering business and football operations – from the driving vision of owner Jerry Jones, to a breakdown of the team’s draft picks.
The development in Frisco also will feature an entertainment district that will include a hotel, restaurants, a sports medicine facility and office space. A kickoff event for the Ford Center at The Star, which alone will cost more than $255.5 million, is scheduled for Aug. 27.
“We are working now to plan the big event that will showcase all of our varsity football teams in matchups for their season openers,” Frisco ISD Superintendent Jeremy Lyon told the newspaper.
