Life Time Fitness Bans Cable News at All Clubs

Life Time doesn't want its clientele worrying about the news while working up a sweat.

According to a report from Pioneer Press, the chain will no longer show cable news on TVs at its clubs.

Natalie Bushaw, senior director of public relations and internal communications for Life Time, confirmed the policy change.

Bushaw said there were a couple of reasons for the change. “Both the many member requests received over time across the country, and in keeping with our overall healthy way of life philosophy and commitment to provide family oriented environments free of consistently negative or politically charged content,” she said.

Life Time believes the change is “consistent with the desires of its overall membership,” Bushaw said, noting that CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and CNBC have all been banned at Life Time clubs.
