A group of high school football players in California are being forced to choose between taking their SATs or playing in the state playoffs.
According to a report from KOVT, the CBS affiliate in Sacramento, Saturday is the last day available for seniors to take the SATs. With thousands expected to attend the playoffs, organizers say they're all out of rescheduling options.
Some players have chosen to take the SATs and then play in whatever remains of the game. The scheduled afternoon kickoff coincides almost perfectly with the expected finish time for the testing.
“One of our players lives in Modesto, and he signed up for SATs in Modesto, which means after the test he’s got an almost two-hour drive to make to it to Sac State,” said Diane Wabe, a parent of one of the players.
