IMPACT Climbing, Canada's Climbing Gym Solution

SOURCE: IMPACT Climbing

IMPACT has left their footprint across Canada since 2008, with climbing gyms like Grand River Rocks, Junction Climbing, Alt Rock, Top Rock, Boulder Bear, Rock Jungle Fitness and Aspire Climbing. They've also tackled corporate projects like Google in Waterloo, MLSE in Toronto & Guelph University, Ontario Science Centre, and playgrounds such as Air Riderz Trampoline Park, Ninjaz Canada, Inja Nation, Aero Sport Trampoline Parks, and Sky Zone in both Mississauga, London and St. Catharines. But as the industry has gone global, so has IMPACT with jobs around the world from Australia, USA, Europe and Dubai.

Over the last five years the climbing manufacturing landscape has evolved to demand lower material costs and less on-site time. Founder, Kyle Wilson, says "We saw the landscape shifting and knew we had the skills and passion to dive right in and fill that void." This opening in the market needed new solutions structured around a need for change and adaptations, so IMPACT began building texture and structures with this in mind.

Anyone who has built a successful business knows it is an enormous undertaking. The dedication and hunger required to be an entrepreneur, and the commitment to the daily grind and hustle, can be as equally daunting as it is rewarding. With trial and error — Kyle and his wife, Erin Wilson, built a foolproof system for sustainable growth first with IMPACT who builds gym infrastructure and walls, and then with their own gym, ASPIRE Climbing.

ASPIRE Climbing serves as their lab, where each piece of their client's custom designed climbing structures are handcrafted and put to the test. New ideas, new structures, material, textures, and designs all hit the ground running in their test facility, providing valuable user feedback to create better, stronger and more creative solutions before they hit the market.

As their gym grew, so did their popularity, and with it, a demand for ASPIRE's. For the last 20 years, climbing gyms have transitioned from dark, dusty warehouse to light, spacious fitness destinations, serving an increasingly health-conscious culture. Climbing gyms have emerged in spaces where traditional alpinism and rock climbing are virtually unheard of. Some of the best climbers in the competitive world come from places without an outdoor climbing scene, which means as long as there are active people who want a challenging and exhilarating workout, climbing gyms will be in high demand.

Kyle and Erin have answered that call with a sustainable climbing gym model including full-service manufacturing and instillation, from design to staff training. ASPIRE's franchise model is the perfect solution for the entrepreneur ready to climb on board the fastest growing fitness obsession in the world.
