Program management and advisory firm Brailsford & Dunlavey's ("B&D") push into Northern California continues with the naming of regional leaders for two of its practice groups.
Newly appointed Regional Vice President Mark Newton will oversee the growing K-12 practice in this region, which is currently leading school modernization efforts in Redwood City and Oakland. B&D veteran and Vice President Ann Drummie is relocating from Washington, DC, to head up the higher education practice. Their efforts will also involve work with community colleges.

Newton brings over 28 years of industry experience in Northern California -- most recently 14 years focused on K-14 projects. Previously, he served as Kitchell CEM's Market Sector Executive, leading the coordination of all K-14 projects and managing major bond programs. His expertise in large capital programs is a strong complement to B&D's significant portfolio in this area, and will help deliver success to a region that is looking to capitalize on last November's passage of Proposition 51, which authorized the state to issue $9B in new bonds to pay for school repairs and renovations.

Drummie has more than 20 years of experience in non-profit institution business planning and real estate development. With B&D since 2001, she has guided more than 100 institutions through planning and implementation, many with long-term multi-facility engagements. These have included the University of Maine, Howard University, Butler University, and Jacksonville State University, and have ranged from residential life, campus recreation, and athletics, to academics, research, and health facilities. She is the firm's leader for design and construction program management services for higher education, and with the relocation to Northern California, she is also an integral part of B&D's advisory services, including opportunities with California State University campuses through an active master enabling agreement with the System.

"Almost 25 years ago, B&D started with just three employees and six clients," said Chris Dunlavey, FAIA, B&D's President. "The work we get to do for our clients is profound and deeply rewarding; we get to strengthen communities and empower leaders. We're particularly excited about this new expansion into Northern California given our growing K-14 client base there, as well as our development advisory opportunities with the California State University System on the higher education side. Together, Mark and Ann will lead incredible work-building even stronger, more active communities in this region."

Additionally, B&D VENUES will play a role in this geographic expansion, with college campus and pro arenas/stadia as well as ballparks and convention/conference center projects across the region. The specialty practice group within B&D has served more than 100 clients on more than 150 projects and is eager to take on additional projects in Northern California.
