NRPA 2017 Fellowship and Scholarship Award Winners Announced

Park and recreation professionals and students recognized for making significant contributions to field   

 

Ashburn, Va. (July 14, 2017) ā€” The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is proud to announce the winners of its 2017 Fellowship and Scholarship Program. Awarded annually, NRPAā€™s Young Professional Fellowship, Diversity Scholarship and Student Scholarship aim to inspire young professionals to participate in and pursue a future leadership role within NRPA ā€” the leading organization for park and recreation professionals nationwide.

The 2017 fellowship and scholarship award winners include:

  • NRPA Diversity Scholarship
    • Leslyn McBean-Clairborne, Ithaca, New York
    • Kobeyeh Riley, Mint Hill, North Carolina
  • NRPA Student Scholarship
    • Mary Elise Conzelmann, Arcata, California
    • Dakota Hewlett, East Lansing, Michigan                       
  • NRPA Young Professional Fellowship
    • Brianne Baglini, Fairfax, Virginia
    • Derek Donlevy, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
    • Nicole Fields, Buffalo, New York
    • Kevin Witte, Mountlake Terrace, Washington

ā€œThe future of our organization is dependent on the participation of todayā€™s young professionals and students,ā€ said Barbara Tulipane, CAE, NRPA president and CEO. ā€œThatā€™s why we are proud to offer a fellowship and scholarship program that provides an in-depth view of our organization and its importance.ā€

The award winners will be recognized at the 2017 NRPA Annual ConferenceSept. 26ā€“28, where they will meet with NRPA leadership and attend various conference sessions and meetings with an assigned mentor.
