MILWAUKEE — Architecture and design firm Kahler Slater has hired Ryan Freeland, AIA, NCARB as a key member of the firm’s Higher Education team. He will help guide the continued growth of Kahler Slater’s nationally recognized collegiate and community sports and recreation practice, focusing on design, firm technology, and business development.

Ryan brings proven leadership skills and a thoughtful approach to planning and design that will provide our clients with tremendous value.”
Freeland brings more than eight years of experience. He began his career in Cuningham Group’s Minneapolis headquarters and, more recently, worked with Populous, a global architecture and design firm based in Kansas City. During his tenures with those firms, Freeland worked on several high-profile projects, including Epic Systems Corporation’s Deep Space auditorium and Campus Four in Verona, Wisconsin, Minnesota United FC’s Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota, and enhancements to the Minnesota Twins’ ballpark, Target Field.
Freeland received a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture with a minor in construction management from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Architecture degree from Clemson University. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
