Silver Spring, MD, January 26, 2017 – The scope of the Sports & Fitness Industry Association’s (SFIA) 2017 Litigation, Regulatory and Risk Management Summit (LR2MS) is expanding to offer select startups a chance to participate in the new Start-Up Workshop: Live Demonstration and Expert Counsel.

The ‘Start-Up Workshop’ will provide an interactive platform for startups to receive insight from established sports & fitness brands and legal experts attending 2017 LR2MS. Three select companies will be asked to present a live product demonstration, then open the floor for a Q&A discussion.

“We see this new workshop as a way to continue to help small companies in our industry grow and succeed,” said SFIA President & CEO Tom Cove. “After seeing the many companies exhibiting in our Sports Tech Marketplace at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this month, we felt there was a need to address in the market.”

Applicants that will be considered to present at 2017 LR2MS must fit certain requirements. These include having a C-Level executive from the company attend and present at the 2017 LR2MS, the interested company must have a ‘product’ they can demonstrate, and finally companies applying should have a need for education.

“Our LR2MS features expert speakers with cutting edge content, ranging from in-house counsels to product developers and marketers,” said Cove. “The three companies selected will have a chance to learn from experts on necessary topics to help their business succeed, including:  product packaging insights, marketing claims, new CSPC issues, Proposition 65 changes, Intellectual Property, Innovation and more. We’re happy to offer this at no extra charge to three startup attendees.”

There is no application fee to apply, and the deadline to apply is March 1, 2017. Please contact John Peters at[email protected] for more information.
