The reigning NBA champions will use the technology for both clinical and performance related monitoring of players

Palo Alto, CA — October 23, 2017 — SyncThink, a world leader in neurotechnology, announces today The Golden State Warriors have on-boarded the EYE-SYNC solution to its courtside performance and sports medicine team. The platform is accessible on the court and in the locker rooms for identification of impairment and monitoring of recovery.

“The health and welfare of our athletes is paramount in our decision making,” said Chelsea Lane, Head of Physical Performance and Sports Medicine for the Golden State Warriors. “EYE-SYNC is a valuable and objective piece of our oculomotor function and fatigue monitoring puzzle.”

Dr. Jamshid Ghajar MD, PhD of Stanford University and founder of SyncThink, developed EYE-SYNC to combine a modified VR headset and eye-tracking technology in order to objectively evaluate impairments associated with concussion. An objective evaluation can be achieved in just 60 seconds, making it an effective courtside tool. The EYE-SYNC device can accurately assess ocular-motor synchronization deficits and vestibular balance dysfunction. It includes the most recent release of the SCAT5. EYE-SYNC is also cloud-connected and HIPAA compliant, providing an option to deliver a patient’s results to a consulting clinician in an instant.

Scott Anderson, the former Director of Athletic Training at Stanford University, and SyncThink’s Chief Customer Officer, has seen first-hand how advantageous the EYE-SYNC technology can be and will work with the Golden State Warriors for the full adoption of the solution and expansion of its uses.

“I’m excited to see the Warriors performance and medical team dive into our technology and to utilize it for the vast functionality it is capable of,” Anderson said. “This organization, from top to bottom, is known for their pioneering efforts in bringing cutting edge technology to their sport, so it is no surprise to me they became our first NBA customer. We look forward to working with them during the upcoming season.”

The NBA Champions join other top-respected programs such as Stanford, Texas, Iowa State, and more. The entire Warriors performance and medical staff has been comprehensively trained and is eager to put EYE-SYNC into use for the 2017-2018 season when they begin their title defense.
