GREENVILLE, IL, November 2018 – The University of Saskatchewan equipped Merlis Belsher Place with a new Nevco Video Display and Scoring Solution. The brand new arena will be home for the Huskie hockey teams and other community teams starting in the 2018-19 season.

The new home for the Huskies features a custom four-sided, full color 6mm LED Video Display with a lower 6mm LED Video Ring hung at center ice. The center-hung video display is designed with over 940,799 mesmerizing pixels providing impressive image clarity to give every fan in the bowl an exciting view during the game. The MotionRocket Sports Video Control System accompanies the display and offers the Huskie game-day operations a user-friendly content management system capable of exhibiting a variety of live in-game action, instant replays, in-game graphics, fan prompts, and sponsorship messages. The Huskies can also integrate their display with StatCrew software to display player headshots, up-to-the-minute statistics, and more, providing players and fans with a professional experience at every home contest.

“We are ecstatic to continue our partnership with Nevco to complete our vision for Merlis Belsher Place,” said Michael Jenkins, Associate Athletics Officer, Program Development, Huskie Athletics. “I am confident that the new Nevco jumbotron will help bring continued success to our hockey programs, allowing us to promote our corporate partners in a completely new manner, in addition to energizing crowds and creating an amazing atmosphere in the new arena.”

Nevco and the University of Saskatchewan partnered together previously for a project which brought over 1 million pixels of LED video displays and LED scorers tables to Huskie basketball and volleyball games in the Physical Activity Complex (PAC).

The University of Saskatchewan further customized their display with custom imprinted wedge panels which offer space for sponsors. Beneath the structure is a custom imprinted bottom which proudly displays the University of Saskatchewan Huskies logo.

“We appreciate the opportunity presented by the University of Saskatchewan and we are proud to be able to continue to provide a solution to meet their needs,” said Eric Light, Vice President of Sports Video Sales. “The center-hung display will light up the new arena and bring an exciting element to game-days to create an memorable experience for fans, players, and sponsors alike.”

Merlis Belsher Place is a state-of-the-art $51 million facility, highlighted by a 2,500 seat spectator arena. The arena opened its doors in anticipation of the Huskies hockey home openers, with both teams earning victories in their first contests in the new venue.
