Utah Valley University teams up with Arizon Building Systems to open multi-sport dome

OREM, UT – Utah Valley University (UVU), located in Orem, UT, prepares to open its first, air-supported multi-sport dome. This is the largest air-supported structure to open in the area. UVU has been working with Arizon Building Structures, an air-supported dome manufacturer located in Maryland Heights, MO, on the production and installation of the dome. The dome will be located just off campus next to outdoor fields, overlooking the mountains, allowing for year-round play for the students.

The dome features numerous turf fields, a state-of-the-art weight room, a pole vaulting and high jump area, and unique netting hung from the ceiling to accommodate lacrosse, baseball and softball play. “We do plan on eventually opening the dome up for rentals, such as, events or sports camps, “explains Kurt Baxter, Senior Director of Engineering & Space at UVU. The Arizon Building Systems Team is putting the finishing touches on the dome, and the University plans to have it open for summer use.
