An LA Fitness member was charged along with two other individuals after they were caught stealing credit cards from other members.
Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ reports that Brittani Quigley, along with Marchael Clements and Nichole Thomas, were caught using bolt cutters to break into two lockers at an LA Fitness location in Woodhaven, Mich. According to LA Fitness management, Quigley has an account with the gym and appeared at locations in other states that also reported thefts.
One of the alleged victims saw a member of the thieving trio leave his locker, and realized he had been robbed. The man took a photo of the person he believed to have robbed him, and one of his car as he drove off.
Police were called, and the alleged victim began getting alerts from his financial institution that his credit card was being used at a nearby CVS. It was there that the trio were apprehended by police and arrested.
Police told WXYZ that the alleged thieves had used the cards to buy more than $10,000 of merchandise — mostly Visa gift cards in $500 amounts.
After their arrest, all three of the alleged thieves were arraigned on multiple felony charges. Clements is currently out of jail on bond.
