The Mandan Park Board recently awarded naming rights to Dakota Community Bank & Trust for the Dacotah Centennial Park Soccer Field, which will now bear the bank's name.
The Feb. 14 agreement includes official naming rights of the high school competitive field and crow's nest structure in exchange for $125,000.
The Mandan Girls Soccer Booster Club secured the sponsorship with Dakota Community Bank, along with a $10,000 contribution each from Mandan Public Schools and the Mandan Park District.
"The Mandan Girls Soccer Booster Club is extremely thankful to the Dakota Community Bank for their financial support in this project," said Shelly Osborn, president of the Mandan Girls Soccer Booster Club.
"The Mandan Park District provides high-quality soccer fields and, now, with the addition of the crow's nest and protected benching for our players and coaches, this will offer the necessary protection from the elements and a well-equipped facility," she said.
The park district will coordinate the construction project, which includes making sure the bank's brand is prominent on the crow's nest structure and in other areas near or around the fields, and develop a timeline that meets weather conditions.
"Dakota Community Bank has been a longtime supporter and dedicated partner with the Mandan Park District and the growth of its programs and facilities," said Mandan Park District Director Cole Higlin, noting the bank recently sponsored the Starion Sports Complex's hockey scoreboards and baseball concession stands.
