Tiger Stadium Plaza Renovation, Louisiana State University

Baton Rouge, LA
Construction Cost: $7 million
Area / Square Feet: 180,000 SF
Occupancy Date: August 2012

Phased enhancements to the west and north sides of Tiger Stadium included the creation of piers and entrance features of appropriate scale to become new landmarks around the stadium, incorporation of plaques and kiosks to celebrate the LSU Tiger football team and individual successes, new plazas, new ticket gates and new sliding gates for crowd control.

Three phases completed since the fall of 2012 have resulted in changes to three-quarters of the stadium’s exterior. Phase one created ticket gates that incorporate the type of classically designed pylons found at main campus entrances, as well as a National Champions Plaza and All-Americans Plaza, on the stadium’s west side. In addition, the stadium exterior was updated with new signage and accent LED lighting. Phases two and three saw similar enhancements on the stadium’s north side, which now features an SEC Champions Plaza, and west side, which recognizes LSU’s rich bowl game history.

The work has resulted in an environment that enhances Tiger spirit, establishes new fan traditions, and incorporates elements as backdrops for fan photo opportunities.
