The new Bentley University Multipurpose Arena is an important addition to campus, offering a venue to support the needs of the Division I hockey program, as well as other events and functions — such as concerts, career fairs and orientations — that serve the larger Bentley community.

Designers worked closely with the hockey coaches and athletic director to create a state-of-the-art arena with support spaces and amenities expected of a Division I facility, as well as providing an exciting player and fan experience. The new arena is a valuable recruiting tool for the increasingly successful hockey program.

Tiered seating for nearly 2,000 includes 80 percent seat-back chairs surrounding an NHL-sized ice sheet. The floor area at the center offers primary access for athletes, but also provides at-grade access for the movement of materials required for events. Important support spaces include a player lounge, a weight room, a training room with two plunge pools, and a coaches office suite. A large event lounge on the concourse level serves boosters, alumni and donors. Food service is available from the concessions kitchen, where games can be viewed live on the video wall. The Bentley University Multipurpose Arena is the first hockey arena in the country to garner LEED Platinum certification.
