Medlar Field at Lubrano Park is a new 5,500-seat, 130,000-square foot ballpark on The Pennsylvania State University campus that is shared by the Penn State baseball team and the State College Spikes, a New York-Penn League team. The design team therefore had to consider and balance the competing needs and regulations of the facility?s two occupants.

Located adjacent to Penn State?s Beaver Stadium, the facility features breathtaking vistas of Mount Nittany, one of State College?s most prominent natural landmarks, from nearly every seat in the park. In an effort to create an ?athletic village? concept, the ballpark?s brick, metal, concrete block and glass design complements nearby athletic venues.

A landscaped pedestrian plaza in front of the main entrance complements the Porter Road entrance to Beaver Stadium. In addition to baseball games, the ballpark hosts concerts and other special events, and its concessions stands and rest rooms are opened to the public during Penn State football games.

At the concourse level, a ticket and retail pavilion frames a gated entry plaza and prefunction space that can accommodate special outdoor events and concessions. Minor-league offices, general concessions, picnic areas, group areas, bleachers, rest rooms, a first-aid station and support areas are located along the main concourse.
