Splash Station, Fremont Family Fun Pool

Fremont, NE
Construction Cost: $5.1 million
Area / Square Feet: 2.68 acres
Occupancy Date: July 2007

The 6,330-square-foot bathhouse is a multicolored split-face masonry building with a bright blue standing-seam metal roof that coordinates with a separate mechanical building. The front admissions desk and waiting area are designed to look like an old-fashioned train station ticket booth. (Train imagery is found throughout the facility to reflect the city’s history with the Union Pacific Railroad.) Inside the bathhouse are a family changing room and locker rooms with private showers. The facility features a 24-by-40- foot full-service concessions area with shaded seating, as well as six large umbrellas that shade the main deck area.

The new pool has nearly 12,000 square feet of pool surface, with a bather capacity of 1,856. A zero-depth area features a large hydro-storm water tower, and an interactive train-play unit features three slides, kid-powered water sprayers, fl oor geysers and a waterfall mushroom.

Adjacent to the main pool is a splash pad area with a smaller hydro-storm water tower, spray loops, water cannons and a spray spinner. The main pool also has a train-themed water walk. With the addition of easily removable walls, a six-lane, 25-meter lap pool is easily transformed into a wave pool.
